About Nadia
I moved to Abu Dhabi in 2009 to work as Cabin Crew with Etihad Airways. The first year was really hard. I felt lonely and often wondered if I’d made a mistake. Then I met my now husband, and that made me give the city a second chance. I’m so glad I did! We got married on Saadiyat Island (if you haven’t visited yet, you’re in for a treat!), had all our children here, and eventually bought our own apartment on Yas Island. I moved into a training manager role and spent my last 7 years at Etihad leading the First and VIP cabin crew training experience. When our first son was born, I took a career break to be home with him, something I’m so grateful for and wouldn’t have been able to do back home in South Africa. Life here with a family just works: safety, convenience, fun, culture and world-class beaches, all in one easy-to-navigate city. I truly can’t recommend it highly enough!
